Medical facilities
At the Rzeszów University of Technology it is possible for handicapped students of various disability to take up studies. All the university and campus buildings have been adapted to meet their needs. Ramps have been built and a number of buildings have been fitted with lifts and automatic doors. In the hostels there are rooms reserved for the disabled. The allotment is done by the vice-rector for education. Applications for a hostel room in a current year should be submitted to the Education Section by the 10th of September. The handicapped can apply for a maintenance grant for disabled students.
Insurence
Polish students are provided with free medical care. Foreign students, including Sokrates/Erasmus Programme students, have to take out an insurance Policy valid all over Poland (European Health Insurance Card). If not, all the health care costs are covered by the student.
